EMIGRATION
Looking to emigrate to another country?
Although there are no Home Affairs linked requirements to emigrate from South Africa, with the new “expat tax” there are SARS requirements one needs to comply with in order to financially emigrate. One thing expats don’t do is inform SARS that they are no longer a tax resident leaving them, unintentionally, flouting the South African tax laws and owing SARS money. Van der Merwe Attorneys can assist with the formal SARS and SARB process to have it noted that you are no longer “ordinarily resident” in South Africa and emigrate from a tax point of view (financial emigration).
Although there may not be any Home Affairs linked requirements to emigrate from South Africa, Immigration law is a complex area of law and every country, whether it be Australia, New Zealand, America are somewhere in Europe, will have its own set of complex Immigration laws. Van der Merwe Attorneys, along with its partners in the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, can assist with Immigration visa and other requirements to become a citizen in any of these countries.
